Our First Christmas of 2012

The last time we spent Christmas in Illinois was in 2005 before we moved to Germany and before we had any kids.  Since we are moving this summer, we thought this might be a good chance to have Christmas in Illinois. 

I knew the families would go crazy with gifts and that we wouldn’t have a lot of room in the car on the drive home, so we had our Christmas early.  We had our holiday party with friends the day before, so we already had all of the Christmas fixings.  Christmas is the one day I let everyone stay in their pajamas all day.  Gideon had to leave for part of the day to go to a final, but the girls and I sported our Christmas pajamas. 

The girls promptly set to ripping open their presents and would often squeal with delight when they got even a tiny peek.  I love the excitement and joy of watching the girls open their presents.
