Hadley's Big Day

The first words out of Hadley’s mouth yesterday when she woke up were “I’m 4 now.” We had been counting down to her birthday, so we all knew how excited she was. Gideon took the day off, so we could all spend the day together.

As usual, I spoiled her with gifts. I still maintain though that there were many, many things that I knew she would like that I didn’t get for her.

The bike was from some of the Midshipmen from Norwich. It was used for a fine during Mess Night. There are also gifts from Grandma, Grandpa, Aunts and Uncles, so I didn’t do it all.

After opening gifts and a little time at home playing, we headed to Pizza Putt. It is one of Hadley’s favorite places. We ate lunch and then headed to the play structure. The girls had a blast and even Gideon got in on the fun crawling through the tunnels and playing in the ball pit. Unlike the girls, Gideon was exhausted after two trips through the tunnels.

Where's Hadley?

Along with the play structure, we played a few rounds of golf and a lot of arcade games. We added over 2500 tickets to our stockpile. We are saving up for one of the really big stuffed animal prizes.

Then we headed to Toys ‘R Us to look for a gift to buy with Grandma Sheila and Grandpa Bruce’s birthday money. After picking out a Dora game for her new Leappad, we went to Friendly’s for dinner.

Gideon is not a huge fan of Friendly’s, but it was Hadley’s choice. I think Gideon’s mind was changed about Friendly’s after the amazing service and super friendly waitstaff. We were all surprised when they sang Hadley happy birthday and presented her with a signed birthday card for a free three scoop sundae on our next visit.

Once we got home, we all dug into Hadley’s cake.

Digging in

It was a long day with a lot of fun activities. I know I had a lot of fun, and I think Hadley did as well. My little girl is 4!
