Little Helper

I've mentioned before how Hadley loves to bake and how she always wants to help in the kitchen.  I think sometimes her main objective is to eat the raw dough when I'm not looking, but most of the time she is a good helper.  She is really learning how to bake and can tell you what we need to make cakes, cookies, and brownies.

She also loves to help with Malia, whether it is getting me a diaper and wipes or teaching Malia all about her toys, colors, and shapes.  She is a great big sister.

Last weekend though, it was time for Hadley to be Daddy's Little Helper.  We had 9 cubic yards of gravel delivered to completely recover our driveway.  Then it was up to Daddy and Hadley to spread all of that gravel.  With the help of her purple shovel (or big spoon as she called it), Hadley filled in holes, spread gravel, and had a great time with just Daddy.

Malia is 2 Months Old

Dear Malia,

Today you turn 2 months old.  As you continue to grow, our love for you grows too.  You are now observing the world so much more.  You love to look around and take in everything until sleep overcomes you.  Other than Mommy's arms, your favorite place is your bouncy chair.  We put the arch on for the first time and you fell in love with the motion and sounds.

The highlight of my month happened at 3AM on September 19.  Daddy handed you to me and as soon as you saw my face you smiled for the first time and started cooing.  It was the best 3AM ever.  Now you smile and coo all of the time, except of course when I have the camera.  You continue to be a calm, happy baby.  The only place you don't enjoy is your carseat, but once we get wherever we are going you are back to your happy self.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming month as you continue to learn and grow and maybe even get one of your big, beautiful smiles on camera.
