Whirlwind Weekend
Weather in Vermont is temperamental to say the least, so we were very fortunate this past weekend to have beautiful weather, and we were able to do everything that we had planned. Friday we went to the Quechee Hot Air Balloon Festival. We started out by looking through the craft tents and sampling locally grown products. After our taste testing, we had some great BBQ for dinner.
After dinner we found a spot near our friends Bailey, Adam, and Xavier to watch the balloons take off. There was a slight delay to wait for the wind to slow down, and then the balloons started getting blown up.
Slowing the balloons started taking off, which was a beautiful sight.
After watching the balloons take off, we walked around a little longer and watched a local band perform. Hadley really enjoyed the music and got her groove on, dancing to the delight of everyone around us.
Saturday we visited a local park that our friend Nicky told us about. Hadley loves to slide and climb and really enjoyed playing with Frank. The rest of the day we spent at home relaxing and playing in the backyard.
Sunday was Father's Day and Gideon chose to go back to Quechee to hike the Gorge and play miniature golf. The Gorge was very pretty, and I was very happy that I was able to keep up with everyone even with all of the hills and my very pregnant belly.
After hiking the Gorge, we went across the street to play miniature golf, which was the first time for Hadley. At the beginning it was a hit, but she quickly got bored with the idea of hitting the ball with the club and wanted to just play with the balls. Hadley and I stayed in the shade as much as we could, while Frank and Gideon continued to play.
It was a very busy weekend, but we had a great time. Who knows what next weekend will bring.
